Dear fellow NC-13th District residents,

We are now looking to the future, and have an eye on the U.S. Congressional election in 2010 (as well as a multitude of local, county and state offices …including important ordinances,  taxation issues, and more, in the coming months).  I have announced my intention to run for the U.S. House of Representatives (NC-13th District) in 2010.

I am currently active at the grassroots level, and serve as a Vice Chairman (Precinct 19-12) in State district 40:  Wake County.  This process is allowing me to see where the tough and essential work is being done for the NCGOP.  One thing we must all do is encourage others to get excited about what Republicans (and Conservatives) stand for, and get them involved at whatever level they are willing to serve.    

Now that I've decided to run for Congress, I must look to turn my Vice Chairman duties over to other capable Conservatives in the district.  However, I will always remain accessible to the NCGOP ongoing efforts of the Party; this will never change.

I continue to hear the frustration of constituents in the NC-13th Congressional District.  The comments are not only from Conservative Republicans, but also from Conservative "Blue Dog" Democrats who are absolutely fed-up with our nation's radical move to the far left.

As Conservatives, we have allowed liberals and political pundits besmirch our integrity and impugn our motives.  By so doing, THEY have redefined the terms “Conservative” and “Republican.”  As a result, our youth are embarrassed and disillusioned about how the party is portrayed, and many have resigned to “going with the flow.”  Others are motivated by FEAR, because they suspect that their jobs/careers may be lost if they become a  registered  Republican.  If this is going on, it is patently criminal ...and it must change: NOW!

My approach is simple and straightforward: 

1) Support and defend the U.S. Constitution consistent with the Judeo-Christian principles that guided the overwhelming majority of our nation's Founding Fathers.

2) Articulate and clearly contrast Conservative and Republican principles against the tired, played-out and whitewashed Liberal (occasionally "Socialist") Democrat policies and methodologies.  Show the consequences for Liberal legislation, and hold them accountable!

3) say what I mean; mean what I say ...and never be ashamed of Conservative principles.

We have been on the defense too long.  It’s time to unleash the power of what Ronald Reagan continually cited, which is: “We, The People.”  I encourage you to read the website tabs at the top and bottom of this page: (Bill's Beliefs, Concerned Citizens, Bill's Bio, etc.).   The "News" tab is updated several times each week, and will feature articles that are not necessarily reported prominently in the mainstream media.

As I campaign over the coming weeks and months, I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of you (as situations allow).  But rest assured:  You'll not lose any sleep wondering what I believe, or how I'd vote on various pieces of legislation.  I will do my utmost to represent the NC-13th Congressional District with honor, integrity, credibility and distinction.
